  • @3245james @3245james There is some truth in saying you can hit it however you want. However there are certainly 'ways' of hitting to get certain sounds and also movements which make sense depending on what else you are doing. On top of that these lessons work up to songs which I play using these techniques in the places demonstrated, it is possible to play the bass drum hit in many places but in the context of a song it won't 'flow' in some of them.

  • The harmonic at the 19th fret is slapped so your right hand 1st finger strikes the string over the metal of the fret. This creates the Harmonic node and also sets the string ringing - same as the slapped harmonic at the 12th, just at 19.

  • You can get paid a fair sum of money for consistantly uploading videos to Youtube, provided that your a partner. These tutorials are excellent and gain a lot of interest. A lot of interest means a lot of money.. Worth while. Plus there will always be someone who's willing to do it if you don't.

  • @DaleCampbellAcoustic Thanks, this was a realy usefull comment!

  • Sort of unnecessary explanation, all you had to say was slap the thing anywhere for different sounds, but thats me I dont know... Its just seeing so much effort put into something really not complex would set a learner back & destroy confidence, cause really theres no wrong way of doing it.

  • Mark Kroos has a song called, "Capo 4"

And he's not happy with it either.

I think all great musicians have 1 or 2 of those.

  • You are an amazing teacher, your awesome, Thank you!

  • everytime i see ur thumb, in the back of my mind im yelling" OMG HE BROKE HIS THUMB!" even though i kno ur double jointed lol

  • very difficult lesson 2 for me!! lesson 1 was great but this is too difficult to be lesson 2!
