I understand what you are saying about controlling the forward/backward balance. When going cross-country on my pegs stilts I find coming down steep hills very difficult due to not knowing if with each step that the front stilt is secure and will not slide before your weight is transferred from the rear stilt. This one fact has caused me many falls. Do a search for 'lampwort' and you will see some of my home movies.
Thank you for that explanation. I just thought that with the right type of grippy stilt foot (probably some kind of butyl or neoprene rubber), an inclined stiltwalk would be both unique and highly watchable.
I also notice that the stilts you use are quite short. Does the height of the stilt vary the difficulty of the act or are the ones you use the only ones you have tried?
I am walking on stilts on the high wire, and although I have learned that nothing is impossible in this life, walking on stilts on an inclined wire would be extremly difficult, on the stilts at least, I am using. The reason, you can not control the forward backward balance properly, even on a straight wire. When I step, I simply push forward my body weight just sufficiently not to fall backwards, and neither to fall on my nose, while I find the wire with the stilts, while making a step. Maybe...

Superb display of balance and showmanship. I kust wonder if it is possible to stiltwalk up and down an inclined wire
