Egypt has the most wonderful bread. A flat, pita-style bread baked in a woodburning oven. The lunch stop for the day was within spitting distance of the Step Pyramid of Sakkara in Restaurant Pharous. A musical "Welcome" greeting (the flutey-type instrument always reminds me of snake charmers) and de-lish food.

A local woman was squatting by her oven, busily patting out perfect rounds of bread and invited me to try my hand at bread-making. I invite you to watch the video to see my pathetic attempt... No one will ever invite Travels With Sheila to work in a bakery...
