I had some big caps lying around so I built this capacitive discharge tester. This test was about 1.5 kj.

  • Your girlfriend's reddit post generated much speculation among my friends and I. I was correct in thinking you had a big honking switch there. We weren't even close on the overall purpose though.

Very well built, and great result!

  • It's amazing how much joy is generated over something as simple as blowing shit up. Do it again :)

  • @thecraag I think it's better to leave the door unlatched. The collision with the door slows it down to a safe speed, but if the door was latched, it might actually crack the plexi or break a piece of the latch and cause an even more dangerous projectile.

  • Hmm.. maybe put a latch on that door??!

  • Would you count this as a component failure? Yes?
