The rake of 2302 Howrah Rajdhani pulled by WAP-5 30015 "Vijay Utkarsh" arrives at New Delhi station ready for departure at 5pm on 16 Dec 2009. The rake at the adjacent platform is that of 2314 Sealdah Rajdhani ready to depart at 4:30pm. Two and a half weeks later, on Jan 2, 2010, this locomotive was involved in a serious rear end collision while pulling the Gorakhdham Express at Panki near Kanpur. I got a report that said the Vijay Utkarsh(WAP-5) which was involved in the serious accident at PANKI was rescued. It was hampered from the sides so it was taken to Ghaziabad centre for repainting and for repairement. And I heard that it was then assingned to shift somewhere in Bhopal probably for the action of BHOPAL SHATABDI OR LUCKNOW RAJDHANI. But it not operate with any NDLS-HWH route trains from then....

Sad that we lost Vijay Utkarsh. Does anyone know if, it would be back or the collision was so severe that, it was totally dismantled?
