  • God, this ending is so heartbreaking when you think about it. Michael never intended to be involved with the family's business, even his own father tried to prevent it as well. In the end, he becomes the one thing that he tried to avoid and this scene? It's just a memory of when everything would change, a desperate last attempt. Three of the people here would die by his bidding...including the only one who ironically supported his choice: Fredo.

Movie endings just aren't the same these days.

  • mommy, daddy's fighting again! xD

  • @Kevintu28 What does a "crime" film have to do with CGI?

  • shouldnt have cut off the end music

  • godfather 1 ending

  • 3:25 - 3:51

This was supposed to be the setup for The Godfather Part III. Which was Michael Vs Tom in a war to decide who controls the family. But after Robert Duvall was not paid what he wanted, Part III's storyline completely changes.

  • i was expecting a huge shootout

  • dis ending is great, because it can mean so many things in the way you interpret it.

My interpretation is that Mike couldn't be his own man in his family. He wanted 2 make his own imprint/his own mark in society, and he couldn't with Sonny and Vito running the family business. He thought he could make his own mark on society outside the family, but as soon as he was the boss, he could make his own mark, unfortunately, he went against the strength of the Corelone family which was being a family.

  • Best ending ever!

  • scene is playing amc

  • @666brandohill1 He's just trolling mate, don't bite

  • Immense scene, quite simply stunning. Love seeing Santino again, you can't help being drawn to him and his personality...which ultimately led to his downfall :-(
