If I hadn't been presented with a more positive view of spirituality, I would have never been a 'believer' and would have sympathized with agnostics and atheists. I would realize that virtually all medievangelists (my term) and other preachers are nothing more than a bunch of shallow, money-grabbing, heartless parasites hell bent on promoting their agenda to further their own selfish causes! That is precisely what it means to take the Lord's name in vain!

And, if I would ask a question, and he agreed, he would squeeze. And if the question was in the negative, he would squeeze even harder and grimace. So, thus was our language when he was about to die. Same with his mother, my grandmother when she was about to die. They're trying to tell you something, but they can't. So, you have to fish for it. And you never know what you're going to end up with.

This is about growing-up in a fundamentalist Protestant religion. Southern Baptist, Assemby-of-God, Pentacostal, etc. They use your own emotions to short-circuit your mind to give them what they want. Which is your money. No different than a commercial on TV or whatever. I know, I saw my dad give away everything to these people till he was broke and on life support in hospital. And the only thing left he had to say was, "I'm sorry I was wrong".

Gripping me with what strength he had left in one hand, he let me know, he was wrong. I told him, "Dad, don't worry, I know what to do". But he was more worried about me being decieved...being on his deathbed...he couldn't lie anymore. So, I had to talk, and let him know if I knew the truth or not. Well, this is how it's going to be with your pop, whether you know it or not. My dad couldn't speak, so I'd ask him questions and he'd agree with me if he could squeeze me hand, and if he didn't.

Thats sad to hear, I have a grandmother who was conned by an even worse religious sect who would literally knock the door and ask for 70 of her husbands wages, he worked 3 jobs 7 days a week JUST to put food on the table, it got so bad they started taking the daughters pay packets until the eldest snapped and went ape on them! Long story short of course, but people can be horrible when praying on those who wish to beleive in a higher power.

Pounds or Bucks, man they all want the same. But, I'm sure you're working for your living, jus like I am here in the americas, man. And, it's a hard life, takin' care of your family, if you're the only one, .like I am. I'm a Texan, man, and I take care of my mother at the detriment of my life...of the detriment of me life...and all I can show for it is me pride, man. Well, pride be a shield, and a buttress again' all your people, man. ]

My mom told me that my people be Scots-Irish...and she told me their names...Greenway, Piltcher (MacSiurtain), and Jordan. And the English being Timm...but, she said, there be some Saxon indescretion in that name. Though, that is my last name: Timm. However I might be 75% Celt...and 1/4 quarter anglo-saxon, by birth, in the Greenway way, I hope that doesn't make me so bad that I can't talk with you man. And I am an American...so

And, let me tell you, that we're not starving anymore, man. Even the poorest of us red-headed of us have got plenty to eat here, and the only thing we leak is a reason to fight! So, 6 million Irish great-grandchildren in america have done OK. Since 1884, I can't name a single man that is starving here. And there be 14 million Irishmen here.

What, I'm tryin' to say is that even as a red-headed, American/Texan, I hope that the Republic of Ireland makes it's way and the entire Island becomes the Republic it shoud be. And, even though some of my people be Angles and Saxons, most of them are Celts and Picts. B/c I have firey red hair, the phenotype cannot be denied. My great-grandmas were Scots-Irish. And, maybe that Queen Elizabeth II had a grandson-prince that be red-headed...there's no doubt he's a celt. Just like I am.

An appropriate song to dedicate to the (un)religious right! Such scumbags!
