Since VLC Media Player was only capable of ripping the b-boy battle footage from the SJ07 DVD, and since DVD Shrink 3.2 ended up crashing in the beginning stages of the process of analyzing the DVD, I took it upon myself to rip ALL of the DVD-quality footage from SJ07 with DVD Decrypter. Hope you enjoy it.

Shamelessly stolen from an '07 post made by longtime Scribble Jam organizer/host Kevin Beacham on rapmusic.com, here is a listing of the emcee battle brackets for SJ07 and a summary made by Beacham of his views on the tournament:

-Nocando Vs Franco

-Final Commentary: Nocando was clearly the top notch guy all thru out. He
murdered every round impressing the crowd, the judges and myself. His
worst round was the first bracket in the finals against franco. Of course in
finals we generally give them two rounds of 2 minutes each. I think Franco
won the first two minutes but the second 2 minutes Nocando came out
blazing with one his best peformances of the night and won w/o question.
Nocando is a example of all the best of what a battle mc should be. I've
felt that every since he won the first LA Prelim. He has style, but he doesnt
bury you with it or stay over your head, he knows when to pull back and
drop the punch and then go right back to the style then....punchline. He
is loud and projects his voice perfectly. He is articulate. He looks confident.
He is the full package. Oh yeah, and his freestyle skills are pretty amazing...
that helps.

Franco definitely represented all thru out. Eventhough he got to the finals
I don't think he got credit for as dope as he was because he said some
really ill stuff that didn't get the response it should have...mainly because
it was pretty complex and secondly because he is so animated and moving
he doesn't always project his voice that loud, but he killed so props to
Franco.

Props also to Tut, Maddillz, Thesaurus, and Parable who all did a great job. Props to Qwel for coming out of nowhere and deciding to battle. To elaborate more on him in the battle. I don't think his mindstate was let me try to win this money. The way he approached me and asked to be in it is because he is sick and tired of a lot of the same things most of us are sick of. That's 80% of the battles mc saying the same thing. Every other line is about someone being gay or just plain/uninventive/corny punchlines. I think his goal was to just be the "other side of the coin" to which I think he represented. Plus I appreciate an established artist who hasn't battled in a long time caring enough about the art form to decide
to enter for a reason like that.

Also, shouts to The Wrist who was pretty much came out of nowhere and did his thing. He represented nicely in the Pre Lim and his own in the main battle.

Aight, that's all I got on the MC battle if you have any other questions let me know. Oh, I'll save you one question/comment "NO ONE GOT JERKED"...ha. Lord have mercy stop saying that...it is PREFERENCE. Don't confuse "JERKED" with "PREFERENCE". JERKED is when the MAJORITY of the crowd thinks so one won and the judges vote the opposite way. That didnt' happen, there were close calls and the crowd was "SPLIT" but that isnt' jerked. You see "SPLIT" means could go either way and a lot of the judges were split into 4/2 or 3/3 making them close battles. People get jerked a lot less than people would have you believe. YES it does happen but rarely. The only case of me feeling like someone being JERKED at Scribble Jam is last year with Reef The Lost Cauze. I was surprised at the choice for Duece Leader even though he did have a couple of "entertaining lines" against Reef. That is why I did a recount and then one thing lead to another, etc.. Anyway, anything else (as far as memory serves) was close/split/etc... so shut up already....ha
