This is the first kite buggy vid. I made in 2010. It has been edited from close on one hour of video recording. It's about 20 kms of dunes called the Half Pipe & climbing a large dune from the north we call the SNTTA * dune, then running back down it in a westerly direction. For the kiters, I was flying a 6.5m Blade V.
There are two major music tracks. The first one from the Vangelis's Chariots of Fire & the second track is J.S. Bach's Fugue in G Minor.
Other than the music, which always draws plenty of critique, I think this is one of the best vids I have made thanks to Brig's great efforts in trying to keep me on camera as she chased me in her 800cc Polaris Razor.
*Note: SNTTA is an acronym for Sharjah National Travel & Touring Agency . This company organises desert safaris in powerful 4X4's and sometimes take the tourists to the top of this dune that rises 70 meters above the desert floor usually to get some good sunset shots.

Hi Ibrahim, Your PM box on Kite Crowd needs de-activating. I sent you a message on the Buggy open forum. Did you receive?

  • Enjoyed your video and music. Have you ever run in to quick sands and or got lost in the dunes all alone? Looks more dangerous there than UK buggying. thanks

  • No, I have never run into a quicksand. I've never even seen one here.

Can't get lost with a GPS & always have my mobile phone handy just in case something goes pear shape. I can call the Mrs or a friend, who will load my location into their GPS & then drive out to help me.

It takes a lot of practice to get to my level of dune buggying. I don't think of it as dangerous at all but just a challenge. There is an element of risk particularly when driving out to my usual buggying patch.
