@ragingavion Yes, absolutely!

Can you buy a refill kit and use it on a starter cartridge with no problems? Thanks!

@ebonlase We have found that the excess toner compartment on Samsung cartridges is big enough that by the time it fills up (3+ refills), the drum is already worn out. For this reason, we have not included this step in our video instructions. However, there is, of course, no harm in emptying out the excess toner. To do so, you can use a holemaking tool to pierce a hole on the top of the cartridge, empty the excess, and seal the hole with aluminum duct tape.

has anybody done the refilling on the starter cartridge?
Does everything work out smooth?
I am thinking of purchasing this ML-1865W.. but i need to know if the refilling works out smoothly..

@zeeshan11624 The starter cartridge can be refilled very smoothly just like shown in the video.
However, you should be aware that there are other black-and-white laser printers out there, like the Brother models, that have lower-cost refill kits (due to the lack of chip), and much simpler refill procedures. That's what I would suggest for you.

Do I have to empty the cartridge before refilling?
Can I just refill without empty it?

@ChenJunAn It's not recommended that you do that. Two reasons: 1. Because the OEM and refill powder are slightly different, they will not work if they are mixed together in the cartridge at the same time. You have to empty the old toner out first. 2. If you overfill the cartridge, it won't work. By emptying the toner, you eliminate any risk of overfilling.
This is why we recommend this to our clients.

By the way, does it work with ML-1865W in Singapore? I notice that the refill kits have variants for North America, Australia and Europe. If so, which variant should I purchase? It is also noted that this printer is made in China. Thank you!

@Burrrnee Assuming you bought the printer in Singapore, you can just purchase the Australia version and it will work.
