Sir, you just very clearly demonstrated, that 'all those guys up there' do in fact, know better than yourself.
-
You're a good guy and I appreciate your anger. I feel the same way when I see that idiot Rebecca Peters talking about how all of our guns need to be taken away. All I can say is that I will never give up my guns no matter what happens and I am relatively sure all gun owners will do the same thing. If the U.S. government wants to try and take our guns, they will have a war on their hands which they will never forget.

Around here the first thing out of an officers mouth tends to be the reason he pulled you over. They don't ask you "do you know why...", they just say why, then ask for L&R. So I'm with you on this one. He really should have said the reason first.
-
@DaedalEVE What bothered me was that he would not tell me why he pulled me over until after I gave him my L&R and he went back to his car. He should have had the character to answer a simple question. It is as much my right to ask as it is his to see my license and registration.

Going through a yellow is iffy (some will pull you over, but most won't as it's been ruled over and over that going through a yellow is not illegal). But asking for L&R is normal. You are required to provide them. All drivers must be licensed, and all vehicles registered.
Him saying you went through a red (if you did not) is wrong though. I hada LEO accuse me of not stopping at a sign before because he was not satisfied with how long I stayed stationary... but it got thrown out
-
@DaedalEVE A cop pulled me over for going through a yellow, and when he asked me for my L&R, I asked why he pulled me over. He just kept repeating himself and got very angry.
Of course, he then claimed I went through a red and gave me a ticket at 10:00 in the morning in a quiet, peaceful town with almost no crime.
It's become a world where we are presumed guilty and we have to prove our innocence. Refusing a search of your car has become probable cause to get a search warrant for it.

It seems to be a problem all over the place now. It's a shame that you can't trust police any more because of the minority of them that abuse power and what not.
And I understand about the weapon issue as well. In MD you can't have anything concealed at all (knife, mace, etc), and even if worn openly it's only legal if your intent is to not use it maliciously... but how do you PROVE intent when a cop stops you?
Here you have to be robbed or raped before they will issue a ccw.

The abuse of power and hypocrisy is disgusting. The cops took them home probably. The same way they took my K-Bars home instead of arresting me. How fucked is Massachusetts that you can't have a blade longer than 2.5 inches in your possession unless you are directly going to or coming from a hunting fishing trip? How do you prove that? Why is that even necessary? These "liberal" states feel like anyone who has a "weapon" will become a cold-blooded killer. It's outrageous.

@bipaola better to die on your feet, than live on your knees!!!!! we are all gonna die someday, might as well die for something.....our fore fathers thought freedom was worth dying for!!!

So, I got screwed by a pissed off ex, had my civil rights violated, found out a local detective is crooked, and got a lesson in how things work in the real world, and learned that minding your own business and staying out of trouble does not necessarily guarantee that trouble will not come looking for you.
Really crappy way of learning that... but you move on I guess. I'll say this much... knowing this stuff happens to innocent people sure makes the world seem different.
HR45 is dead.
No one even want to touch it.
Don't let your guard down though.

don't be so sure. Herr Obama wants to reduce "youth violence" and this would be "great" for that...wink wink nod nod. I don't trust these snakes at all.
SendARope 2 years ago
I don't trust them either.
any of them.
..except maybe mick huckabee and ron paul

There are 2 guys with opposing views on a lot of stuff.
SendARope 2 years ago
Yes, but they are consistent.
I like people who skip the B/S and say what they mean and mean what they say.

I like that too. Personally I can't stand Huckabee. Don't really know why. Just gives me the creeps.
