அருட் பெரும் ஜோதி! தனிப் பெரும் கருணை! " Arul perum jothi - Thani perum karunai! This is the Tamil verse created by the great Saint Arul Prakasha Ramaling Vallalar. In wikipedia you can see as "Ramaling Swamigal". Arutprakasa Vallalar Chidambaram Ramalingam (Tamil: அருட்பிரகாச வள்ளலார் சிதம்பரம் இராமலிங்க அடிகள்) (5 October 1823 – 30 January 1874).

As far as i know it should be chanted with affirmation rite .

@yozenbalki -- Thank you for this authentic translation. Although I have always heard it as Arut, that could very well be just the way us "westerners" ears are tuned. :-) Additional research has shown it exactly as you have written!

Yes I have. Its quite a long litany of events. I wish to write more on this but I have to get out onto the road again, make my final delivery and go home for a couple of days. After I have spent some time with my family I will return to post more...
