This video is a clip from our one-and-only performance of "Dream Nights" - the musical version of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", featuring songs from the 60s/70s/80s.

Now, the video is of the opening number, but if you cannot quite hear what PUCK is saying, then below is a script for you!

BEGINNING:
Mere mortals, we're so glad to see so many of you lovely common people here tonight and we sincerely hope that you all enjoy this tale of love, passion, magic and mixed identity. Remember people, no matter who you are, and what you do to live, thrive and survive, there are things in life that make us all the same. The world's a stage, so let's bring on the players!

MID-NUMBER:
Now listen up and let me introduce you to some of our significant players in our tale. Our story takes place in a small market town, not far from a collection of trees known to all as... Bourne Woods.

MID-NUMBER:
On this night, on this hot summer's night, the townsfolk have gathered to celebrate the engagmenet of Prince Thesues to soon-to-be Princess Hippolyta. Among the guests are our star-crossed lovers...Lysander...Hermia...Demetrius... and Helena!

(It's quite freaky, really. There was absolutely torrential rain on the Saturday that we were due to perform outside, and so we sadly cancelled. Later on that evening, the BBC started its live competition for "Last Choir Standing" and their opening number was - yup, Everybody Needs Somebody". I have a feeling that those of us who watched the show were also performing our routine to it. It certainly lifted a few dampened spirits!)
