A Regular Billy Shakespeare
Senior year in high school when I didn't get into Notre Dame it was a huge curveball,
But I knew my destiny was to live in one of the many great residence halls,
I told myself I would end up at Notre Dame through thick and thin,
It was a battle that I knew that I had to win,
After spending my entire freshman year with my nose in books,
I got into Notre Dame and the echoes had been shook,
Even after spending three years watching dismal football,
And enduring many nights that ended up sleeping in a stall,
I wouldn't exchange my college choice for anything at all,
Now as my senior year comes to a close,
There is one more challenge I want to pose,
Throwing the first pitch in front of my fellow classmates,
Would put me in perhaps the happiest of states,
While my experiences under the Dome will be something I preserve,
I believe this is an honor that I deserve,
The only thing I can do is go to the grotto and pray and wish,
But any choice that is made I will always be a part of the Fighting Irish.
