New York -- On December 9th and 10th, Tibetans and their supporters marked International Human Rights Day with two days of colorful protests in front of the NYC Chinese Consulate [42nd St & 12th Ave] as part of planned global protests against China's failed policies in Tibet. Tenzin Phuntsok, a former Tibetan monk from Chamdo, Tibet has died after lighting himself on fire on December 2nd, the 12th Tibetan to take such drastic action to protest Chinese rule in Tibet since March 2011.

Tibet activists raised a 7-foot pole carrying 100 Tibetan prayer flags printed with more than 34,000 in front of the Chinese Consulate to highlight the groundswell of global support for urgent diplomatic action to stop China's crackdown in Tibet. Prominent signatories include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, actor Richard Gere, and the band Radiohead.

  • Second, it's evident and sad that Human Right is a serious problem in China. Thank you for pointing it out. But if you are equating Democracy to Human Rights, you can save your energy. It is not a cure for everything. I can personally shed some light on your future path: to stand up for justified constitution system, freedom of speech and transparent government in China are what you can do to contribute. Save your ignorant one-way human-right thinking.

  • Just for mad-dogs and no-brainers. First of all, take your lessons plz, Tibet became a part of China since 13th century, and it's the CPC freed the Tibetan people from the reign of Theocracy, when people were tormented and killed as slaves. I don't see you crying out for the freedom of American Indians from the white people, do I? Tibet's poverty is a result of difficult transportation, which doesn't differ from other distant provinces. The construction of rail-system is improving the situation.

  • SFT has been going down hill ever since Tendor took over as the CEO.

  • Free Tibet! Thank you Tendor la and all Student for Tibet members. Support Tibet issues which is a moral issues and just cause. All the lovers of peace, non voilence and moral ethics in the world must support Tibet (a peace loving nation) and follower of peace. May Tibetans have peace and happiness in Tibet!
