@Procyonidae The reason that is, cuz Nintendo always have used poor/average tech in their consoles (relative to the era). They weren't/aren't about putting powerful components in their machines (like SEGA were). See N have always designed their consoles in way that means they make a profit on the hardware on day 1 (unlike SEGA). For that to be possible, that means no latest, greatest & most powerful components, instead its average parts, that do the job ok, but aren't pushing anything special.

I remember the 1st time I played this game. When I heard this music I just went "OMG this is gonna be sooooooooo epic !!!"

Guitar cover would be cool, but it would be brutal on this one- sounds like a Malmsteen song almost

@StalinBrosef I would gladly listen to ANYTHING on the Genesis. I literally love all of it. And if you wanna see something even better that this, well, smoother, look up Streets of rage 2 music. or "Lightening force/ Thunder force 4" music

The songs from this game are by far the best use of the genesis' sound chip, up there with the Sonic titles. Some genesis games had soundtracks that were just incredibly hard to listen to, this is incredibly hard NOT to listen to.
This song, more than any other song, highlights what the Genesis' Yamaha FM chip was capable of. The SNES' SPC chip couldn't do this on its very best day.
