  • @lookn4smitty Good Question! Ok In June 1598, Juan de Oñate led a group of Spanish settlers through the Jornada del Muerto, an inhospitable patch of desert that ends just south of the present day city of Socorro Lopezville was the first part of land where a great decendent from Spain resided his name was estephan De'laluna Lopez and this street was named after him from then on family has been here on Lopezville since then Lopez also just happens to be my Last name! i hope that helps

  • Great video. My fathers side of the family is from there. His name is Domingo Castillo. You should restore the house! Keep the videos coming.

The historical part is, this is where the first white Spanish European settlers came first and still live there, since 1598.

    Thanks

Baron Castillo from California and I also have family living in NM, since 1598.
