  • The first one was a positive lightning strike. The second one sounded more like a negitive strike close by. Like sicilian12345 said, positive and negitive lightning thunders sound completely different. Nice vid too, by the way!

  • @BowlingMania14 Thank you

  • Clear indication's of a Positive Strike include extremely loud deafening thunder, extreme pounding/rippling thunder and very bright lightning. This is all do to the Ultra high amperes in the strike itself super heating the sir surrounding it to much higher degree then a negative strike. A typical negative strike has about 30,000 amperes as to a positive strike which can have up to 240,000 amperes.

Thunder from positive strikes has been known to pop nails from wood and crack windows in homes.

  • @sicilian12345 Thank you for the info about positive lightning

  • In the mountains, when the storm clouds hit the side of the mountain where I live they shoot lightning out into the desert 10 miles away where I used to live!!! It sounds so horrible when it happens because of it echoing off of the mountain side. Deafeningly loud and very dangerous.

  • I've heard thunder like this. It's not something to mess with. I was almost killed by a postive bolt last year. I found out in the video I took that the actual bolt was 7 to 8 feet away from me. D:

  • Both are Positive Lightning Thunder No Question.. Due to that Crisp SNAP of the Thunder Clap. U don,t get that SNAP with Negitive Lightning...

  • True Sican A Thunder Clap from a positive Lightning WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION !!!!

  • @sicilian12345 crack windows in homes? holy shit

  • Hearing it again, am convinced the second is positive also. I think the closeness of it made it a bit harder to differentiate, but if you listen carefully to the thunder as it rolls off into the distance, it has the characteristic gun-shot like sound to it - cool vid!!

  • The first one was definitively a positive strike.

The following second strike was a simple close negative strike about 50m away.

The second one sounds great... nice crackling.
