You're supposed to lightly blot the site, just not massage. And always always always aspirate!! Unless it's an ID injection of course.

@1988yilinjin But aspiration is what you want to do to make sure you did not hit a vein or a nerve. When you do the z track method there is a HUGE risk for hitting the wrong spot.

To have done this properly she should have aspirated. This would not pass a clinical check off.

I would also like to know, why she did not aspirate?...what if she would have been in a vessel?

why dont't they aspirate before injecting??? wat if they hit a vessel acCidentally? im referring to the z tract method in general
