A medieval dance "Stella splendens" from "Llibre vermel", performed in Trakai medieval festival 2010 by historical dance and revival group "Mysteria mundi".

  • This dance is "Stella splendens" from "Llibre vermel de Montserat" - the red book of Montserat monestery in Spain. The reconstruction of the dance is made by world famous historical dance teacher Jane Gingel. As a source for dance steps and choreografical forms she used medieval pictures of dancing and some ancient folk dances of Spain, Italy and central Europe. So some similarities are possible for example with seguidilla (Spanish) :)
