Taylor played Mr. Merrill, the show's resident Jack of all trades (he was the moving man, a substitute teacher, a jeweler, a realtor, etc.) who having a romance with Alice (Sam the butcher didn't close shop and follow when the Bradys moved to the beach). Ironically, in real life, Ann B. Davis couldn't stand Rip Taylor.

I will admit that Chris doesn't sound great in this clip, but search for "Sing" and "Me and My Shadow." He sang both of those pretty well.
