not all the lighter weight fighters walk around at 155-165 pounds thats ridiculous

@PrettyRickyiii1 Yea right,whats a mere 2 month coma?why he'll be just like new![are u kidding?]
-
That's unfortunate, poor bugger, I hope he pulls through.

@Lyingaboutmyage right.obviously all of these martial sports can be EXTREMELY dangerous,but the heavy focused force of a well trained boxers loaded punch is a frightful,often DEVASTATING thing.it is not like being thrown or tackled to the floor,or wrenched,or grinded,it is more akin to being struck with a wooden baseball bat.

Not to mention that boxing is twelve rounds and an MMA fight is usually three. Or that you could have a fight taking place mostly on the ground and not take a lot of shots at all.
-
@guitaromann0688 its likely that boxers take much harder shots than mma guys,simply because boxers have much better hand protection.heavier,more complete gloves with pro applied,underlying wraps,allow boxers to fall completely into a punch with much greater force,knowing their hands are protected.bare knuckle boxers in the old days,held back the same way so they didnt break their hands.im aware of ALOT of famous boxers that have sustained OBVIOUS brain damage,while others actually died later on.

I usually don't do this but here I know nothing else to say: fuck you! This guy was severely injured and had to fight for his life for two months. What the heck is wrong with you?

It's the lighter weights who suffer serious injuries, while Heavyweights rarely end up in a coma.
Fighters who walk around at 155-165 pounds are cutting 20-30 pounds to compete at lower weights. Weigh-ins are a few days before a fight, so they can regain some of what they lost and enter the ring with a weight advantage. But, they're dehydrated and malnorished and that's what leads to injury.
Basically, what we're watching are two middleweights weakened by starvation. It's insane. CRK
