"Real Shaolin Kung Fu" series

These exercises are the fundamentals for learning Shaolin Wushu. You should gain solid foundation in hand forms, stances, leg techniques, jumps and leg presses. Shaolin Wushu requires a lot of hard work, and you should keep practicing in every kind of weather. The saying is that "skill comes from practice." If you want to be good at Shaolin Wushu, you must gain a foundation in the solid basic skills.

This video includes the following:
Short introduction of Shaolin Wushu, correct hand techniques, i.e. eagle, leopard, and praying mantis, pushing techniques, stands, kicks, stretching, jumping techniques, acrobatic elements.
These prepare your for a stay in Shaolin. In detail every arm and leg technique and some difficult jump and acrobatic techniques are explained. You can get an excellent impression of what you will learn at Shaolin.

  • what a bunch of actors. since when shaolin practitioner MUST shave their head snd put on a robe to look like shaolin. none of them are real monks

  • @shlsyk Albeit these people are real monks, but the problem is that the real Shaolin kung fu training has died in China (mainly because of governmental foolish restrictions). We fortunately see a gradual rebirth of traditional training methods in recent years.

    If you train Wushu in Dengfeng, you have to wear traditional training robes, same at Wudang Shan. You don't become a real monk then, it's about making all students look equal, so no one feels higher ranked than the others. In good traditional schools in western countries it's all the same...
