My first and currently only video I made for the wonderful and stunning actress Dianne Wiest using some of her pictures. In my opinion she is highly underestimated and with this tribute I wanted to show you how versatile and talented she really is. - Yes, she can do a lot more than playing the mother roles she is always offered! - This includes some of her stage work as well as material from her movies. Below you will find a list.

Thank you very much for your comment! Yes, she truly was adorable in the Birdcage. And I also think she represents the 'ideal mum', whether it's in a movie or in real life, despite the fact that she has not always been happy with this typecasting. Her two daughters are really blessed with Dianne being their mum. ;-)
Just have to add (trying not to fawn too much), she portrays both the mom you WISH you had, warts and all, and the parent you would really like to be. Her characters are always full of flaws, but the love of her children and the idea that she is always doing the best she can really shine through. I am familiar with the "mom" roles. I am not so familiar with her stage roles. Perhaps I should do a little research. Thanks for the references.
No, you're not fawning too much, you should listen to my puff pieces! LOL And she also does need a little bit of acknowledgment, right? Anyways, thank you for your nice comments, it's wonderful what you have written about her "mum" roles. It's good to know that there are also some other Dianne Wiest fans out there.
Thank you, how nice of you to say! And you are right: Dianne deserves a better place. Her talent and her presence on screen as well as on stage are overwhelming. Somewhere I read that she can change her voice, her behavior, her soul in just a blink of an eye and in my opinion that's absolutely true. It's true that Dianne is quite good at portraying the mother type, maybe because of her natural kindness and generosity. She has so much love to give.
