Symphony No. 4 in C minor D. 417 by Franz Peter Schubert.
Schubert (1797-1828) is one of the most popular composers of transition between classic period and romantic period of music. Influenced on Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn, he was a prodigy child and teenager. indeed the symphony of the video was composed in 1816 when Schubert was 19 years old. However, the symphony was premiered in 1849 in Leipzig, many years later of the premature death of the musician.Thrid movement is the traditional menuetto of Haydn or Mozart symphonies but it has a style similar to Beethoven scherzos in his symphonies, indeed is quick and brief. Central section so Trio is slower and melodious by flutes and strings. Menuetto is in E flat major key unlike previous movements (dramatic introduction in C minor - C major and andante in A flat major). The symphony can be compared with Beethoven 5th symphony due its strength and drama but the 5th symphony of Beethoven is more innovative than Schubert 4th symphony.
