Project Title: '9th April 1940 - The Influence of Cinematic Reenactments on Documentary Immersion and Credibility'

A 8th semester project at Aalborg University Copenhagen's Medialogy Department. The focus was the influence of visual effects and reenactments on immersion and credibility in documentary films. The process included greenscreen and parallax scrolling and 3D composite video.

The whole production was done by four 8th semester students (Birna Rún Ólafsdottír, Michael Labovic Møller, Niels Christian Nilsson, Stefan Erik Asp) and the entire production took less than three weeks to complete at the end of the semester. The group was award with the grades 12 and 10, which is the highest and second-highest grade in the Danish grade system.

Software used: Adobe Premiere, Adobe After-Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya

The documentary is the story of Mr. Niels Nilsson from Copenhagen, Denmark, who tells of his experience of the German invasion of Denmark on the 9th of April 1940.

The main point of this documentary is that though the invasion of Denmark is a very pivotal event in Danish modern History, it was, for most people living at the time, not a very exceptional experience at all... rather, a day as any other.
