  • @mattarmani yeah ADT is good but they charge way too much. I use Watchlight security for monitoring @$10/month. I paid a friend to hardwire my house when at the framing stage. I got a kick butt Ademco Vista 40 with expander module with 64 channels and program it myself. When a zone faults, I can see not only which room but which window in which room. Each window/door/etc has its own zone and nothing daisy chained and no little batteries to replace. It's like Ft Knox here and it never falses.

    What my intruders would hear from inside is the echo from the Ademco outdoor 702 sirens as they blasts 60 watts of yelping siren sound throughout my neighborhood.

    Sounds like a fleet of police cars from inside the house.

    What's the deal has a good point. Might be a good idea to keep a portable panic button near the door.
