Phyllobates terriblis-- tiny and lethal in the wild. Watch his throat sac expand and listen to his high-pitched calling of a mate.

  • I'm not the greatest authority, but they seem to coexist pretty peacefully. They are a bit territorial and I have witnessed behavior where they do come into contact with each other-- like leaping onto another's back, for example. I suggest further research online for more information than I am able to provide.

  • Poison dart frogs are only toxic in the wild, and then only when the toxin is ingested. Touching it would not be fatal. However, the toxins might cause a burning sensation. Indians use a leaf to capture them and harvest the toxin for their darts.

In any case these are captive-bred and are not toxic because their diet is captive-bred as well.

  • @dogspissonrugs the Box jellyfish isnt poisonous. it's venomous.

  • thats the "crowd in the zoo"-imitating frog. very rare!

  • @julesickdrums its not the box yellyfish is

  • Touch it! Touch it! haha!

  • @kellabeck If you were to bring one back from the wild, it would still be poisonous for a long time.

  • @keffysnep seriously :O lol learn something everyday ^^

  • For fuck sake. You do NOT have to lick your fingers or have a cut to be poisoned. Contact of ANY sort is enough for being poisoned. This "wounds and openings" thing is total bullshit, an urban myth to make them seem less poisonous. I have no idea why people made that up. But, the frogs are only poisonous in the wild because of the beetles, ants, and mites that they feed on. In captivity they are not poisonous at all.

Posting this to dispel the myth, thumbs up to keep this at the top.
