These are kids in Mombasa playing soccer/football. They are a team that my buddy Johnny Mayaka put together and coaches to give them something to do and keep them off the streets.

I shot this footage in December of 2007 at the request of my buddy Johnny who was also my Swahili tutor - he's the guy seen in the video coaching. Most of these kids are Muslims - note the mosque in the background. It is also interesting to see that they play barefoot and don't seem bothered or slowed down at all.
Wonderful video-love that they are barefoot playing sports-functional feet!
