SmartScreen is an automatic shading system that can open/close to permit/deny solar heat gain through windows. The system does not use any electricity. A simple change in the ambient room temperature causes the shade to move. Smart materials close the shade as the room temperature rises, to block out solar heat gain, and open the apertures when the room cools, to allow the Sun to warm the room.
