This is kind of a video response to DJ17Nario's video "Thank You, Spread The Word, Ninja Ninja Revolution" where he asks people to try to play ninja gaiden for the nes in any way possible. As I like his video, and a little challenge I decided to hook up my kinect and laptop together and use this to play ninja gaiden on an emulator using the new version of faast (0.7) to translate my movement into input for the game.

faast can be found on this website: http://projects.ict.usc.edu/mxr/faast/

(Btw, is it obvious that its my first time playing this game? ;D )

  • Awesome man!!!! It looks really cool!!!

Btw, how much time did it take to bind the controls??? Is connecting kinect to PC is cumbersome????

  • @NeofirenX If you know how you would like to control something it takes very little time to type out or copy/paste the commands you need, with maybe one or two retries to get some more comfortable settings. Connecting the pc is just as easy as any usb device, though if you have the one that is coupled with the new xbox360 you'll need to buy one extra power cable. (Not if you buy the kinect separately) All information you need is on the page linked in the description.

  • wowowowow!!!!!! innovative!!!!! Spread the Ninja Ninja Revolution baby!!!! You have prved Nario proud!

  • @DJ17Nario Indeed, its a program that lets you map certain movements to key presses. I added the link to the site in the description.

  • @DJ17Nario I see that you're using FAAST, a Kinect hack. This seriously piques my interest.

  • YES YES YES!

You beat the level! That makes me so happy!!

If I got a Kinect, how would I be able to play it like this, by any chance? This is great!
