This is a very popular comfort food at home. You won't see this at Japanese restaurants. Many non-Japanese people think this dish is weird, but it's just like authentic Spaghetti Carbonara. Authentic Carbonara uses raw egg, cheese and spaghetti. This one uses raw egg, rice and soy sauce. Very similar texture between this and carbonara. Japanese cooking food recipe. 簡単和食レシピ。

  • there is a korean style to this. Only we fry our egg and depending on your style you can cook the yolk fully or half way or leave it running and then we mix it with our rice with soy sauce and sesame oil. :) I'm afraid of trying raw egg in general (not cuz of the bacteria but just I don't like raw egg) so you can try it this way if you're a little iffy about it :)

  • @tea4al I'm sorry, but it's really different between raw egg and sunny side up.

  • @ezjapanesecooking when I meant Korean style I meant like something similar. Obviously I realize that there is a difference between raw egg and sunny side up. I'm just offering it to people out there you could cook the egg too and it would still taste pretty good

  • @tea4al No problem homie. Peace out. I love sunnyside up too, with bacon underneath it.

  • @tea4al I agree it does pretty much taste the same.

  • @mamasangel111406 Have you tried both?

  • @LetsPlayMkay Have you ever cooked Japanese or Korean short grain rice? It has different texture than Thai, Chinese, Basmati or other long grain rice which is more dry.

  • @LetsPlayMkay I'm sure your Japanese rice is too hard for me.

  • @ezjapanesecooking sry i accidently sent it to utube >///<

  • i would sooo try this.

  • looks more like a porridge to me

  • @cardcaptorsakurax16 Delivery? LOL.

  • if this rice is very hot then egg's proteins just curdle, so it's not raw anymore

  • @nerdigirlisback72 Clearly you never saw Rocky. Although raw egg protein isn't absorbed nearly as well as cooked, so it's better to make sure it's cooked anyway.
