@connorpatmore Nirvana and GNR despite their little feuds were actually cut from the same cloth. Instead of bowing down to the corporate and materialistic notion of what is "popular music" they became successful in the mainstream on their own terms. GNR hated the watered down soft pop metal approach of the hair metal bands like Warrant, Poison, Ratt etc they always considered themselves to be a rock n roll band. All im saying is nirvana didnt and couldnt kill Guns N Roses.

@ExclusiveLM GNR's biggest tour was the Use Your Illusion tour which went from The start of 91 to the middle of 93, 194 shows in 27 countries playing to over 7 million people, that doesn't sound like the farewell tour of a washed up band to me, this was their most popular period. The fact is that although hair metal bands suffered a drop in popularity GNR were never a hair metal band, they sang about different things, they looked different and most importantly they sounded different

@connorpatmore Listen cunt hair, AFTER Nirvana came out, within a year most long haired groups began doing their last concerts or retiring. Bands like Poison, GNR, Warrent, Nelson and on and on all knew that their soft look and style would be compared to what eventually became known as the Grunge movement which was started by Nirvana in 1990...... because of Nirvana Seattle bands that couldn't get signed earlier like Stone T. Pilots, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains got signed.

@ExclusiveLM You are aware all the guys in nirvana had long hair right?... Axl got pissed at Kurt because he offered them an opening spot on the Use Your Illusions tour because he liked Nirvana and Kurt turned it down because Kurt didn't want to be associated with GNR. GNR were one of the few bands not affected by the whole grunge thing because they weren't the same as all the other glam/hair metal bands. They dressed differently, sounded different and had a different attitude.
