  • they look great, screen seems ok but not amazing...real problem is the voice clips...like we need those? kinda lame. prefer it to be the best prop it can be and not some kind of quote machine....

  • As a follow up I should state that Matt contacted me and DST is replacing my science tricorder. Hopefully the new one will be in better shape. Thanks!

  • they are good master reps are way to much.i think for the price master reps need to do more

  • Yea, the voice clips are completely inappropriate.

  • For a "whole" 40 dollars I think this prop is nothing short of a fantastic deal. If you want perfection then I suggest a M.R. or a Roddenberry.

  • The work on these is far below that done on the phasers and communicators. I certainly wouldn't have purchased both models had I known they were going to be this bad. The face plate on my science tricorder isn't seated properly and angles out on one side and the unit is scratched up in several places right out of the box. Paint work is sloppy with silver blotched onto the black. My medical tricorder has really blobby paint applied to the main silver crossbar.

  • This tricorder is shipping. I got mine yesterday.

  • I heard this tricorder was canceld. I just got the med tricorder and it's ok but the sound on the hand held is way to low.

  • I think that you got the medical tricorder. The reviews I've seen in the past week say it makes a scanning noise when its button is pressed, but you have to turn a wheel to make the scanner spin (so the instructions are wrong about that).

The science version is said to be shipping to customers in about two weeks. If its scanner is as shown here, it makes no noise but has a light that changes colors. That's a good match for the scanner that Dr. Daystrom used in "The Ultimate Computer" episode.
