Thanks for posting this so more people can see it. . I had the privilege to see the film at it's premiere in San Francisco along with the Maya community in the Bay Area. Patricia Amlin was a friend of mine and the voice of Little Blood, Xochi Candelaria, was done by a student of mine when I was doing my Graduate School teaching at UC Berkeley.

Last year I read a special issue of National Geographic about Maya. But this animation is far more detailed and complicated. Not to mention that the animation was made long time ago, with watercolor instead of digital medium.
Thanks for sharing. I truly enjoyed this - even though my head nearly exploded for having to digest all the details at once. If only I hadn't read the NG report first, most likely I won't be able to understand this video, as it's something totally new to me.

@Klontanx My pleasure to provide this obscure little gem.

I remember seeing this 20 years ago on PBS. It inspired me to learn more about Mayan culture and tradition, and to learn to play the flute. Thank you for providing it here.

My pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I saw it in the late 80s on PBS as well.
