Both games are RTS (real time strategy games) Not sure what that means? RTS is kind of like playing chess only the queen is driving a half-track and logistics & tactics change the board by the second.

Company of Heroes by THQ & Relic wins our hearts and cost us a lot of time. I would start the review and then get into playing the game, forgetting time & the review. Get your copy of Company of Heroes from our Amazon.com Store. (help us pay some bills)

GameDemo.com Review of Supreme Commander by THQ for PC

SC comes to us at bad time. A few months ago we would have been leaning slightly towards calling this game enjoyable. However, we have another game on our desk right now by THQ as well called Company of Heros. Both are RTS, however CofH is nearly perfect in design and sets the bar very high for SC.

SC offers huge playing maps, but this is part of the problem with it. The warfare area is so huge that you zoom out and simply start playing at that 'global' level. It is sort of like playing chess with someone that is sitting on the sidewalk and you are on the roof of a 3rd story building looking down at the board. You see the little icons floating about but they mean little and offer little personal connection / interest for you.

And that sums up the game play for me. While the research tree and the players initial start up options are greater than CofH. After playing for a few hours I felt, disconnected from this game and did not want to waste anymore gaming time on it, that I could be spending towards CofH.

Supreme commander is better! I can say this, even though I dont have company of heroes. Why? well, it took me days to install supreme commander after hours of troubleshooting and searching. Then there was big problems with sound, and I wasn't getting music or cutscenes. There is also significant slowdown because of my somewhat old computer. AND I STILL LOVE IT!!! SUPCOM ROCKS!

I like the approach to your comment, but you should try company of heroes as well (you'll prob. need to wait till you get a new system... coh is a little demanding on sys req.)

while the graphics are nice on coh, my problem with sc was the graphical interface. and I liked terror from deep, arsenal, warcraft, red alert... never got into starcraft, not sure why.

dude the grafixs for supreme commander are awesome get a better pc and yes you do command dots so you know wth your units are doing.... ur supcom review part sucked -.-

Um, yea, I have to say that even though Supreme Commander was so highly touted by other players and sources, I found it instantly underwhelming because of its graphics and it's slow pace.

i try to install supcom on my hp pavilion dv9000 but it fails to install it at about 3/4 of the installation with the error of something with ''sounds_english'' when its installing the tutorial. can somebody help me it keeps repeating and i want to play supcom so badly please respond with tips and tricks and salvations thx in forward

Love Supcom for it is a real thinking game. Plenty of varying strategy and attack formation based on Air, sea and land. Your AI opponent, will see your weakest position and attack you while you are busy building up your own strategy! Although you can see more closeups with CoH, it does not have much variants in strategy to use. Replay value is not there at all. Nice to look at in the beginning but nothing to look forward after that. Supcom has high learning curve but after that WOW!!!
