How to properly string a cello, with details on wrapping the strings over the peg properly so the string is locked in place and the correct inward pressure is being applied to keep the peg in the peghole. Created for a StringWorks multimedia CD-ROM in 2001 (expect cheesy effects)

  • my cello was perfectly tuned until my cousin ruined it! i tryed to tune my d string but it snapped! the cello isnt even mine! its my school's! i sent an email to my orchestra teacher a few minutes ago so she didnt response yet. I NEED EXTRA HELP ASAP!!! Can anyone help me? ;(

  • @RaeneDay11 If the problem is what I think it is (that the peg just keeps unwinding whenever you tighten it) you probably just need to push the peg in more when you twist. That's what happens with me anyway ;)

  • awesome, thanks! i just replaced my A string for the first time all by myself! :)

  • My D string keeps unwinding when I try and wind it (it came loose somehow). Any suggestions about how to get it to stay put? Thanks.

  • What about the other end, that goes in first or after the peg side?

  • Yes, same story here. I've been able to manage assembly through various FAQs online and this video, but seeing the bridge placement on video would be a big help, just in case I'm doing something wrong. : \

  • Can you post the part about aligining the bridge? I have a brand-new cello and it came disassembled :(

  • heh i guess so this is perfect for people who wants to know.
