We lived in the D.C. area in the early 70's and 80's and went to the Birchmere, then a neighborhood bar about a mile from our house. The "Scene" was informally the "house band" there or so it seemed. We saw these awesome performers go from local talent playing in churches and high school auditoriums to world-touring icons of bluegrass. What a store of great memories.
