hi, how wet a clay do you use. i just posted another comment about how clay went every where. i think the clay was just to soft or wet (it was really wet). and how do you center it. when i try to form the mound my hands go every where or the clay flys off. oh, and how do you make the clay stick to the wheel. mine always moves off center. thnx a bunch

you cant really make the clay way too wet, just make sure you're never throwing dry clay (thats worse than clay thats too wet). to center, check out simon's video on that- it's very helpful. As for making the clay stick, make sure the bat is dry and then throw it onto the bat. and when you do that, try to keep the clay in the middle to start off with. then centering will be much easier.

Jeeze, no matter how much I watch this video I can't figure out how you open the clay so nicely.

Every time I try to make a plate, it ends up turning into a bowl or it gets ruined because the plate touches the wheel.
