Shihan Kevin Pereira
Started studying martial arts at the age of 7.. At the age of 13 I started training under kaicho tadashi nakamura in the world seido karate honbu on 23rd street and 6th avenue. His cousin was a student of his and his interest was sparked.
During his time at seido he trained under many senseis include nakamura himself shihan william oliver, shihan william best, shihan chris caile, shihan carles martin,shihan ino maqirang, shihan gil alstein, kyoshi akira nakamura to name a few.
He spent 13 yrs at this dojo so during his time with seido he dabbled in aikido exchanging knowledge with a friend ravel diaz who hold a 2nd dan in aikido.
When Kevin got his shodan in seido he started training in jujitsu again under shinan hector negron. He studied there for about 6months. He had to stop because he was working/ studying at seido honbu the schedule became too much.
In 2007 Kevin became aquianted with shihan mark kline 7th dan ryu kyu kempo and a founding member of kyusho international he began training and teaching for him. During this time he studied ryu kyu kempo, modern arnis, small circle jujitsu and kyusho jitsu under his guidance.
On his days off I began training and exchanging knowledge with master bruce ortiz studying wtf taekwondo and shotokan. Kevin was given the opportunity to run his own program and with the permission of shihan kline and master ortiz started shihikan karate jutsu a system of his creation utilizing prinicples from the systems he studied in the past.
February 28th 2010 he became a member of nindo ryu fellowship. Tested under daishihan carlos febres. Kevin continue to train Under Hanshi Leon Major in Kobujitsu also with Kyoshi Bruce Ortiz in Shotokan in order to pass the best knowledge of the martial arts onto his student body.
