@BeepBeepBoing I know you asked banjoman80, but I figure it can't hurt to give my input. So to answer your question, yes and no. Most Scruggs style bluegrass tunes need three picks since that allows for speed. Still, you could play more slowly or try the clawhammer style instead.
Also, Irish and jazz tunes are usually picked with just one pick, on the tenor and plectrum banjos respectively, so that works out pretty well. Hopefully this helped!

Can I ask ,,,, is it possible to play the banjo with just a plectrum ? I am an amputee and would not be able to pick with three fingers.

Sounds really nice! So the banjo is recorded with a microphone and not through the pickup? If so - how does the pickup sound?
Yes, I recorded banjo and other instr. by stereo microphone. Signal from pickup has similar sound, but is mono. True stereo track is more realistic.
