http://www.fitnesseducationseminars.com Dr. Evan Osar discusses common shoulder exercises, front and lateral shoulder raises. Is this the best exercise to strengthen the shoulders? Or does this exercise cause more pain in dysfunction in the shoulder and neck? For information on this topic and other exercises visit our website.

  • @NPFfumbi Scaption makes it easier to control the scapula however will not change a poor scapular stabilization pattern. The client will still have to develop both a stable scapulothoracic articulation as well as eccentrically control the scapul as the arm returns from an overhead or pressing type motion. Front and lateral raises are very challenging for most clients to control and are best left for after they have developed optimal scapulothoracic control. Hope that helps.

  • Would you say that shoulder scaption would contribute to this as well (upper trap/levator dominance)?
