*UPDATE* Bubbles the poodle, Avery the Bichon, Choco and Sugar the Cocker Spaniels have been adopted! Unfortunately, Princess the Cocker Spaniel died of mammary cancer as a result of not being spayed.

We rescued several dogs from a puppy mill when the miller decided they were too old and they needed to make room for new 'stock'. We got 3 Cocker Spaniels, a Poodle, and a Bichon. All of them were so matted and covered in dirt that they needed to be groomed right away. These dogs are different than most puppymill dogs because it's a very small mill, so the dogs have slightly better care and socialization than the typical puppy mill dog. However, they are still kept in rabbit-style hutches with wire floors, and are bred continuously until they are no longer useful. The only way to stop puppymills is to NEVER buy an animal from a pet store, and choose to adopt or rescue rather than buying a dog.

  • I agree, never, never do business with a "pet store" or breeders of any kind unless you personally ask the tough questions and see for yourself the conditions these animals are living under, regardless, adoption is the only option for me and my family & friends. Adopt, DON"T BUY or you justify the industry of cruelty that treats these lives as money producing fodder. Incidently the AKC is the cruelist of them all and their record proves it, they stand by and say nothing.

  • woooooooooooooooow pups
