I hope that it is obvious to you that this is not meant to be a proper tour of the beta in any way shape or form - only to demonstrate the state of functionality on its second day in beta.
For the videos that I recommend to learn about the beta, please visit:

This is just a quick video to demonstrate that the Bing Maps Beta does indeed function in Firefox and Safari on the Mac and mostly even in Chrome Alpha (with one hilarious exception).
I am using MacOS 10.5.8, Silverlight 4 Beta, Safari 4.0.4 (5531.21.10), Firefox 3.5.5, and Chrome 4.0.249.22
If you'd like to take it for a spin yourself, check out:

If you have Silverlight 3 installed but it's giving you grief on the Mac in Firefox about having the latest version, try using the Silverlight 4 Beta. That's not Microsoft's recommendation; it's mine. I haven't had a single problem since installing SL4. Just remember that it isn't finished software yet. In any case, you can download it here:
http://www.silverlight.net/getstarted/silverlight-4-beta/#tools
Just pick up either the 'Windows Runtime' or 'Mac Runtime' - whichever is appropriate for you.
I should also point out that the Bing Maps Beta works in Safari 4, Chrome 4, Firefox 3.5, and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows all equally well.
Unfortunately Opera 10.10 for Windows (admittedly a beta build) gets stuck in an infinite loop on the loading screen. Chalk that up to a lesson in Beta + Beta = you're asking for trouble. Opera 10 does run other Silverlight 3 apps just fine, though, like the Photosynth viewer at http://photosynth.net
Very cool .. I guess I'll have to try the SL 4 beta to see if I can get it running also.
