  • Very genial playing with a keen response to the changing moods and colours of the music. Nice photo of the pianist too!

Yes, I too find RF's playing incredibly warm and sympathetic here. Love the silky nuances at the beginning. There are really masterpieces among the Czech Dances. Take the F major section in Furiant, just brilliant!

  • Thank you so much for this,as it stirs wonderful memories of a marvellous artist who i had the luck to hear many times in concert. After some beautiful Haydn,Schubert,Brahms,Chopin or Debussy out would come the Czech encores;there was often an audience gasp after the Furiant, one of his favorites, understandably so.Everything he touched had a natural musical&human quality..lyrical,rythmic,gentle or firey..Janacek,Ravel,Martinu or Schumann,Beethoven,Mozart.. each had their value. This is beautiful.

  • lovely playin. his In the mists Janacek is unsurparsable.
