This is a video about Google's new Knol software. A knol is a "unit of knowledge", but Google has billed knols as the its answer to Wikipedia. Like Wikipedia, people can add, change, or delete information. But unlike Wikipedia, the person who created the knol owns the rights to the knol and like many Google applications, the owner of the knol can set permission levels. Another difference is a knol is like a Web page and the owner of the knol can create rich colorful Web sites with pictures, graphics, and video. A knol is a great research tool for students, and also makes for a great project creating a knol as a project-based learning assignment.
