It will be understood by all that the unique feature is that flexible wishbone-brush of thin phosphor bronze, which completes the circuit so current can flow through the electromagnets; the =phase and angle and dwell= of the contact to the crank of the crankshaft, determine: direction of impulse and length of power application per half turn, and thereby not only throttles the motor, but determines in part, how much current it draws, under load, or no load.

  • i kinda confuse. Are those the magnet that is contact with the plate? or is it inside those cylinder where a charge and discharge occurs?

  • @randomguy9898 and they lasted for AGES! a 1.5 volt battery in those days would last for hours.

  • I think i have seen one of those telephone batteries before.

It was a very old, big cylinder that said dry cell telephone battery on it

  • good to run a very small sawmill

maybe you could cut balsa logs

  • What´s the resistance of the coil?

  • this sounds alot like my old Volvo bm victor tractor :D

  • where did u get the solenoid?

  • make it for jack off JK

  • This is the one most like my 1908 solenoid engine.

    Different but simular.

Mine doesn't seem to adjust direction.

I like the simple way mine works better.
