My TV Interview

This is an interview I did for a local news station back in December of 2007, a little over a month after my surgery to have my cochlear implant implanted. It's mainly about my Cochlear Implant, but it also mentions my brain tumor, communication, and maybe a few other things I don't remember. My husband, Keith, is in it interpreting for me (so if you wanted to see how we communicate, here's your op!). My doctor also explains the CI and my surgery. Sounds long but it's REALLY short!

So many people are ignorant about deafness, blindness, and especially deaf-blindness. They don't ubnderstand the degrees, and many won't ask about how we dio things because they feel like they are insulting us. But I love to tell people about my disabilities and answer any questions. Knowlege takes away the fear some people have and they see that we are not too much different than they are, It's a good thing. I try to use You Tube to educate and give people a "safe place" to ask questions.
