@lyfe1zruff and tell me..were the movies that took place in rome box office hits? or cheap old movies or B movies..this was a good movie that won awards, they would not make a mistake like that in A List movies like this

@lyfe1zruff Yes, by clothes one can identify an historical period, but this is a movie, and the clothes could be wrong too. Anyway, we were talking about weapons, & clothes in the 1800s wasn't the issue; the issue was if the tombstone said 1882 or 1822, & people suggested different answers to that. You know, there are many movies set in ancient Rome in which soldiers wear watches. I wouldn't want to depend too much on the props & clothes department to ascertain a certain historical period : )

@kidcalabria come on man i know your smarter then that!!!! use your noggin..the two coincide with each other..you can tell the general era of time by not only the weapons but the clothing aswell..how many cowboys did you see on hoarseback with muskets!? huh??? how many colonist with their long hair and rediculous hats did you see hunting or bushwhacking with winchester rifles and 45s? exactly..none..yes the clothes have everything to do with identifying a time period

@lyfe1zruff Thanks for the info. No, I'm no expert but I've read a few books in my time. I was referring to weapons, not to dress codes (which would have been called "clothing apparel" then). The date in particular: on the tombstone it looks like 1822 & someone wrote saying that it's indeed the date. But they're using repetition rifles, which didn't exist until 1867: the chassepot model in Switzerland, followed by the Winchester in the US. Nothing to do with clothes here sir, try across the road

@kidcalabria you dont know alot about dress codes through the ages do you? its 1882 first of all second of all they didnt exactly start dressing like that untill the later 1800 around after the 1860s they dressed more like rebel colonialists in the 1820s with their muskets wich im sure you already know
