Founded in 1985 by Edouard Lock, Louise Lacavalier was the star of Canadian Dance Company Lalala Human Steps, one of the first internationally recognized experimental dance troupes working with performers like David Bowie, Frank Zappa. LaCavalier, seen here in Lalala Humansex, is doing her signature "barrel jump". She was a constant topless performer but there really wasn't much there to cover, was there? Lalala would progress with the times to some unbelievable work, the pinnacle for me being "Amelia" in collaboration with classical musician David Lang known most for piece to "Requiem for a Dream" as performed by The Kronos Quartet. You can find a 9 minute except from "Amelia" on my channel. Edouard Lock has maintained a brilliant project for over 20 years.
I saw them live in the 90's with the great Louise Lacavalier. It was breathtaking.
